Checkout Process — Three-step checkout flow study with order summary
A checkout study: what it takes to build a checkout that converts, based on research and my own experience. Not perfect, but a clear starting point.
Conversion comes down to clarity, so the flow stays linear: Payment, Shipping, Review, with a stepper on top. The shipping step asks only for the basics, and a summary on the right keeps the items, quantities, a coupon field and the total in view. Back and Next sit at the bottom, and a row of reassurances, free shipping, returns, SSL and warranty, answers doubts before they stop a purchase.
